Arajet, a low-cost Dominican airline, begins operations in the country with flights from AIFA, Cancun and Monterrey


Arajet, a low-priced Dominican airline, officially starts its operations in Mexico with the arrival of its first direct flight to Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) from Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic.

The NLUSDQ flight to Mexico City will have three weekly frequencies (Monday, Thursday and Saturday with departure at 07:15 and arrival at 10:40), offering travelers the possibility of connecting with the Caribbean region by less than 200 dollars (for more than 4 thousand Mexican pesos).

The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués stressed that this new route strengthens Mexico's air connectivity with the outside world and contributes to the recovery of the tourism sector in the Dominican Republic and our country. "Through connectivity we promote tourism activity, facilitating the movement of tourists to Mexico and within the country, allowing our vast biocultural wealth to be enjoyed and admired by a greater number of national and international visitors," he said. a statement.

Arajet will complement its connection offer between Mexico and the Dominican Republic through two additional routes: Monterrey with two weekly frequencies (Tuesday and Friday with departure at 07:15 and arrival at 11:05 a.m.), and Cancun with three weekly frequencies (Tuesday and Friday with departure at 6:45 p.m. and arrival at 8:40 p.m., and Sunday with departure at 5:20 p.m. and arrival at 7:10 p.m.), which will start operations from September 30.

Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet, pointed out that "Mexico is a transcendental market for the tourism and air industry, so venturing into such relevant destinations with three new routes represents a unique opportunity to boost visitor traffic for the benefit of development economic, tourist, commercial and cultural relations between the two countries”.

The facilities of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport received the Arajet Boeing 737MAX-8, which offers 185 seats each way to and from the Dominican Republic.

The ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Mexico, María Isabel Castillo Báez, stated that “with the arrival of Arajet, for the first time in history it is possible to promote tourism between Mexico and the Dominican Republic. During September, Arajet also started operations in Colombia, Peru, El Salvador and Aruba. By October, it will expand its offer to Costa Rica, Guatemala, two more cities in Colombia and Canada, in order to complete the first stage in its destination network.
