Spanish assures that it owns the Sun and wants to collect tax for its use
It is about Ángeles Durán, a Spanish woman, who in 2010 obtained a notarial deed that declares her as the sole owner of the Sun.
"Owner of the sun, star of spectral type G2, which is found within the solar system, located at an average distance from Earth of approximately 149 million 600 thousand kilometers," says the document.
After becoming "owner" of the Sun, she began to "sell" parcels on eBay, an internet portal that works as an online store and auction. However, the company deleted his publication because they considered that it was not a tangible asset.
Duran proceeded to sue the company and took the case to court, but she lost.
Later in 2015, she was in the forefront as she was involved in an unusual legal situation when a group of people recognized Durán as the owner of the Sun, but sued her for the damage she caused to her skin.
However, despite her scandals, she returned in 2021 with a particular decision: to tax the entire human race for the use of the Sun.
She argued that 50% of the proceeds will go to the Spanish government, 20% to a pension fund in that country, 10% for research, and the remaining 10% will go to her pocket.
“I know the law and I supported my claim legally. I did it, but anyone could have done it. It just came to me first. When you have a property, it makes sense to use it. The electric companies benefit from the rivers, which belong to everyone, so I hope to take advantage of the Sun”, said Durán.
It is not the first time that Duran has carried out this type of process. In 2008, she registered Tarzan's scream and in 2012 she sued the General Society of Authors and Publishers for its use, but the lawsuit did not prosper.
