The police in the canton of Zurich take bribes
The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) reports on a decision by the Appeals Chamber of the Federal Criminal Court and also mentions a verdict against a corrupt police officer in the canton of Zurich:
«[...] According to a judgment of the Zurich District Court of December 2, 2020, [the accused...] bribed a Zurich police officer to obtain information about the criminal proceedings concerning him and the private address of the federal public prosecutor. The police officer was found guilty of multiple passive bribery and taking advantage and was punished with a conditional fine of 240 daily rates of 150 francs (36,000 francs).
The NZZ had reported on the main hearing that preceded the verdict against the canton police officer and reported the verdict of the first instance.
