Bitcoin suffers a 6% drop in just 2 minutes

The price of the popular bitcoin cryptocurrency suffered a significant drop this Friday in a matter of minutes, losing 6% of its value compared to the previous day to reach $21,896 per unit, according to data from the Gate.io cryptocurrency platform.

Shortly after, it gained ground and at the time of writing this article, the price of bitcoin is around 22,000 dollars.

Another sharper drop was recorded earlier in the morning of this same day, losing more than 8% of its initial value to $21,449.

This crash is the second most important that the cryptocurrency suffers since last July 26, when it reached $20,700.

Bitcoin has been experiencing a steep decline and has lost more than 47% in value since its all-time high of $69,000, recorded on November 10 last year.
