What do you need to enter the Dominican Republic?

Above all, the desire to have a good time in a country that has everything. But you also have to take into account the entry requirements to the country. We recommend that you have all the papers on hand before traveling (passport, plane tickets...) and make a list of everything you want to take on the trip.
We also recommend that you book your plane ticket, hotel, and private airport-hotel transportation in advance, so you will have almost everything you need for your trip ready.
The Dominican Republic is a friendly country and open to tourism. Most visitors arrive by plane and the most visited airports, which we serve, are the international airports of Punta Cana, La Romana (Casa de Campo) and Santo Domingo. There are some citizens who only need a passport to access the country as tourists and these are those from the following countries: United States, Canada, Great Britain, countries of the European Union, Mexico, many from Latin America, Japan, Israel and South Korea (see the list of all countries here). Since April 2018, the cost of the tourist card is included in the plane tickets.
If you are in the country for more than 30 days, which are the maximum days for tourist visits, you will have to pay a fine, which will increase depending on the amount of time spent in excess. See the applicable fines here.
There is also a US$20 return tax at the airport, but it is also included in your plane ticket.
It is allowed to travel to the Dominican Republic with the following limits established in Customs:
• A maximum of 20 packets of tobacco, 25 cigars or 200 grams of rolling tobacco.
• A maximum of 3 liters of wine, beer, whiskey or liquor.
• You can bring a maximum of gifts valued at US$500 every 3 months.

We recommend that you make a copy of your passport and that you always leave the original safe at the hotel.
We also recommend that you book your private transportation from the airport to the hotel in advance. This way you will avoid unnecessary waiting, share transportation, arrive at your destination sooner and relax on your vacation as soon as you arrive with the sole responsibility of having a good time.
Book with a local company, which you can easily contact and which provides you with a trustworthy and comfortable service. If you don't know which one to choose, take a look at the TripAdvisor ratings and remember to leave yours to help other users.
