More than 80 Mexican and 150 Cuban companies participate. The growth of investments, exports and other goals are promoted.

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, participated this Thursday in the inauguration of the Cuba-Mexico Business Forum, which takes place in Havana, on which occasion a greeting sent to the participants in said meeting by the Mexican president was read. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

More than 80 Mexican and 150 Cuban companies participate in the meeting, from the agri-food, logistics, tourism, transportation, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, renewable energies and culture.

Said companies, from the public and private sectors, are interested in promoting investments, increasing exportable funds, developing the commercialization of goods and services and examining possibilities of doing business in all sectors.

Addressing the participants, the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the Mexican Ministry of Economy, Héctor Guerrero, urged them to look hard for ways to strengthen economic ties and create spaces conducive to successful business conditions.

The speaker who opened the meeting, Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, stressed that the meeting takes place at a time when his country's economy is facing the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government and intensified in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The working day was also attended by other authorities from both nations, including the Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero.

The sessions of the Forum, held in the context of the 120 years of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Mexico, are expected to conclude this Friday.
