According to the electoral authorities, with 99.90 percent of the tables counted, the Rejection option obtains 7,878,434 votes (61.87%) and the Approval obtains 4,855,507 (38.13%). At the same time, the blank and null votes reached 77,231 and 200,567, respectively.

After the results of the plebiscite, President Gabriel Boric called all the representatives of political parties to a meeting at the Palacio de la Moneda next Monday, in order to return to the constituent issues.

For election day, Servel detailed that 15,076,690 citizens were qualified to cast their vote in national territory, while 97,239 were summoned abroad.

The National Director of Servel, Raúl García Aspillaga, stressed that the day has passed normally and with good attendance from the people, "we highlight the civic responsibility with which the citizens have taken in this plebiscite, the day has been very calm, there is a good level of turnout at the polling stations, we believe we can have more positive surprises," he pondered.

From very early on, Servel authorities reported that 100 percent of the voting tables were installed, with the regions of Atacama, O'Higgins, Maule, Araucanía, Los Ríos and Magallanes being the first, while Coquimbo was the furthest behind.

According to Prensa Latina, the Chilean president, Gabriel Boric, expressed his commitment to build, together with Congress and civil society, a new constituent process, after the rejection of the Magna Carta proposal in the plebiscite this Sunday.

"To that end, first thing in the morning tomorrow I will meet with the presidents of both chambers and with other authorities to move as quickly as possible in that direction," Boric said in an intervention broadcast on television.

The dignitary will also carry out rounds of talks to gather the proposals of the different sectors that have committed themselves to following this process.

Boric declared that the people were not satisfied with the project presented by the constitutional convention and therefore rejected it.

"That requires our institutions and political actors to work with more effort, dialogue, respect and affection until we arrive at a proposal that interprets us all, that gives confidence and unites us as a country," he said.

He added that as president he humbly accepts this message and makes it his own, we must listen to the voice of the people.
